The Live Machine
Welcome. You will find below some drums solos of actual music. Rythms expression mixed with open free solos, without click-track or headsets, and with drafts of scores written in the nature.
Good listening.
NB : All percussion and drums part of this web site have been recorded with a smartphone phone placed on a tripod near the drums. But, be aware that nothing is better than a good recording studio! So, i strongly invite you to record in a recording studio. The sensations are better, the sound quality is better, it sounds almost immediately... and, it's more easy to play!

The rhythms, sensations, impressions and farandoles universe of ToCAM NaTCHés
[Description :] The ToCAM NaTCHés rythms are taken from noise, sounds and the sayings of nature and animals.
Some of these rythms could sometime be similar to some famous rythms which come from distant lands like african countries or else… If it is so, I beg your pardon. And this resemblance would be completely fortuitous and beyond my control.
Rythms, sensations and ToCAM NaTCHé expressions are played on drums. They can be slow or fast, binary or ternary, or the two at the same time. And it can be in false binary or false ternary too. I learned to listen to and put in music all the stuffs i can hear from nature in Camargue and in others natural spaces. Camargue is a magical and nearly divin space where it is good to recharge. In the ToCAM NaTCHé farandoles major time or minor time does not exist. There are not mathematical rythm or strategies. ToCAM NaTCHé are played in false tempo by smoothing the energy given while keeping the essential bases of dances in the music and their farandoles. ToCAM NaTCHé rythm don't have regular matrissage neither measured nor regular calibration, unless the dance requires it.
You might sometimes think that there are three or four hands playing at the same time, but no. Two hands are enough to make effects with three or four hands. However, in some cases, you can carry two sticks in each hand. These are the "four-rhythmic" solutions that give the illusion of multi-hand play as well as the non-regular "trans-rhythms".
In no case, the rhythms of ToCAM NaTCHé will not replace a drummer and a real percussionist playing at the same time, except in special and very specific cases! Regarding the chopsticks, I use the olive of the chopstick, the thin collar, the greasy collar, and the very thick holding tip of the chopstick.. Depending on the density of the wood, the sounds can change... The rhythms and farandoles of ToCAM NaTCHé can be used with a multitude of musical styles. In these rhythms, strong time and weak time, as they say, can be everywhere and nowhere. Leave and return. The blows delivered by the chopsticks mesh with each other, shock each other, mix each other, snap on and off, leave, and then return.. To go back to nature after taking a little ride on the drums.
The rhythms of ToCAM NaTCHé and their farandoles are often unmeasured. Time is smooth, fluid, modular, and metronomically imperfect.
